Dehradun: As per the intention of Chief Minister (CM) Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji, Uttarakhand is progressing rapidly to become an energy-rich state. Alternative arrangements are also being made to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham for 24 hours in all types of adverse weather conditions. CM Dhami’s stance is clear that the public should not face un-announced power cuts anywhere in the state. Apart from this, energy vigilance has been strengthened to prevent electricity-theft in the state.
As per the guidelines of Chief Minister Dhami ji, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has also energized 2*3 MVA, 33/11 KV Sub Station Sonprayag and 33 KV Guptkashi Sonprayag line to strengthen the power supply of Shri Kedarnath Dham.
Similarly, 33 KV Simli Nandprayag line has been energized for alternative arrangement of power supply to Shri Badrinath Dham. Apart from this, sub-stations at Rishikesh, Kankhal Haridwar, Paniyala Roorkee, Almora, Rudrapur, Kichha, Haldwani, Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh have also been energized.
In order to prevent electricity theft, work was also done to replace about 178 kilometres of overhead power lines with LTAB cables in areas where electricity theft is prevalent.
Similarly, 220 KV double circuit diameter Dehradun transmission line, 220/33 KV, 2*50 MVA power station, Zafarpur has also been inaugurated.
Whereas the 220 KV double circuit diameter Dehradun line whose length is 71 circuit kilometres was energized. Due to which, Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited has further improved high quality power supply to Jhajhra, Selaqui Industrial Area and surrounding areas of Dehradun, by connecting the power generated from the newly constructed 120 MW Vyasi Hydroelectric Project to the grid.
